Sweet & Salty Nutty Protein Balls

These homemade protein balls are the perfect example of a sweet spot between nourishment and indulgence. The nuts offer healthy fats, protein, and essential minerals, while Juspy provides 17g of clean protein per serving, supporting your skin, joints, hair, and nails These sweet treats will leave your body, soul, and sweet tooth satisfied.

  • Preparation time: 15 minutes
  • Chilling time: 1 hour
  • Serves: Approximately 12 protein balls

Ingredients:

  • 100g oats
  • 60g mixed nuts (such as almonds, cashews, and walnuts), roughly chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Juspy Collagen & Cacao Protein Blend
  • 60g unsweetened peanut butter
  • 60ml honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

    1. Add the oats and mixed nuts to a food processor and pulse a few times, until the mixture is broken down into smaller pieces - this provides crunch and texture to the protein balls.
    2. Transfer the oat and nut mixture to a mixing bowl. Add the Juspy Collagen & Cacao Protein Blend and sea salt. Mix well, ensuring that the ingredients are evenly combined.
    3. In a microwave-safe bowl, warm the unsweetened peanut butter for a few seconds until it becomes easier to stir. 
    4. Add the warm peanut butter, honey or maple syrup, and vanilla extract to the oat and nut mixture. Stir until all the ingredients are thoroughly combined and the mixture becomes sticky. 
    5. Place the mixture in the fridge for about 15-20 minutes, making the mixture easier to form into balls.
    6. Once the mixture has chilled, remove it from the fridge. Take small portions of the mixture and roll them between your hands to form compact balls. The size of the balls can vary based on your preference, but aim for bite-sized portions.
    7. Place the protein balls on a tray lined with parchment paper. Repeat the process until all the mixture has been used.
    8. For an added touch of sweetness and presentation, you can sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top of each protein ball.
    9. Return the protein balls to the fridge and let them chill for at least 1 hour. 
    10. Once chilled and firm, the protein balls are ready to be enjoyed.

    Serving and Storage Suggestions:

    • Serve immediately, and store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. These protein balls are a perfect grab-and-go option, whether you need a quick pick-me-up during the day or a post-workout snack.
    • Remember to keep them refrigerated for the best texture and flavour.
